Marr area funding

Marr Area Committee budget grants

Grants of up to £3,000 are available to constituted community groups for projects which benefit local communities in the Marr area.

Funding is available for projects which can be delivered before the end of February 2026 and which support one or more of the following priorities:

  • Empowered and confident communities
  • Economically vibrant communities
  • Healthy, safe and thriving communities
  • Connected communities
  • Natural heritage and environment

Match funding in the region 50% will usually be required.

Grants of up to £500 to support community groups in the Marr area to develop Local Place Plans or Community Action Plans are also available through this scheme.

Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.

Aberdeenshire Charities Trust funding

Aberdeenshire Charities Trust (ACT2) administers charitable funds in Aberdeenshire and is a registered charity (SC045539). There are designated funds available to the council wards in the Marr area that can be used for purposes set out by the trust.

Eligibility

Individuals that live in any of the areas specified in the trust or who can demonstrate that they have a reasonable connection to these areas can apply for funding. The maximum grant available to individuals is £500.

In addition, companies, associations and other organisations who provide services, projects or facilities in  the areas may apply for grants of up to £1,000 (Ward 15 and 16) or £2,000 (Ward 14).

Applications can only be considered if they meet the purposes detailed in the trust.

Available funds

Our Marr Area Committee accepts applications for Ward 14 Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford (Alford, Huntly and Rhynie).

There are no Aberdeenshire Charities Trust funds available for Ward 15 Aboyne, Upper Deeside and Donside (Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne, Tarland and Torphins) or Ward 16 Banchory and Mid Deeside.
